Forget the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario and Luigi are blasting into space, and yes, Princess Peach and Toad come along for the ride, because apparently nobody here believes in personal boundaries. The crew gets herded by mysterious star-catapults, which is a fun sentence to say and also a pretty accurate description of how the movie moves from one thing to the next.
Each jump drops them on a new planet, where a fresh enemy shows up to do the whole “figure out the gimmick” routine. And, thankfully, it’s not just fights. New friends appear too, so it’s not an endless parade of space punches.
Is it groundbreaking cinema? Probably not. But as a big, chaotic sci-fi adventure with the pacing of a game map, it knows exactly what it is. If you’re in the mood for colorful mayhem across the galaxy, this has your name on it.

Mario und Luigi bekommen Ausgehverbot fürs Pilz-Königreich. Stattdessen: raus in den Weltraum, irgendwo zwischen Kinderfantasie und „Warum ist das so teuer?“. Prinzessin Peach und Toad sind auch dabei, und natürlich läuft das Ganze nicht nach Plan, sondern nach Plot-Mechanik. Mysteriöse Sternkatapulte ziehen die Truppe von Planet zu Planet, jeder stoppt kurz, damit ein neuer Gegner auftaucht und das Gefühl von „Komm, jetzt noch ein Level“ nicht ausstirbt. Gleichzeitig gibt es auch neue Gesichter, also keine komplette Weltraum-Depressionsfahrt.
Der Reiz? Das Setting. Der Rest ist eher Nintendo-Vibes mit Übersetzung durch den Galaxie-Filter. Wenn du Spiele-Logik magst, wird dich das wahrscheinlich feiern. Wenn du Story erwartest, solltest du zumindest Snacks einpacken.
